United Rentals Sr. Business Analyst -- Sales Strategy in Scottsdale, Arizona
Responsible for tracking, analyzing, and interpreting business results; identifying opportunities for improvement and growth through in depth customer analytics and sound understanding of UR's business. Develop the tools, reporting and analytical processes to monitor the health of the company's sales/sales operations. Communicate findings to senior leaders and assist in key sales growth initiatives as required.
Leverage strong data and analytical skills to "connect the dots", identifying key insights in market, customer, or operational data. Successfully collaborate with cross functional employees and management in order to answer analytical questions, execute department objectives and achieve company goals. Provide project management and support on key sales growth and customer retention initiatives.
Drive data analytics to pro-actively develop insights about the health of the business and answer key questions posed by senior leaders
o Analyze historical customer information and 3rd party data to identify revenue trends/drivers and business development opportunities
o Leverage advanced analytical skills to identify correlations between diverse data streams that provide strategic direction to company initiatives
o Develop analytic approaches/reporting as necessary to measure impact of sales growth initiatives. Track progress and identify shortfalls.
Architect analytical datasets that power complex analysis, streamline analytical processes, and empower strategic sales activities
o Develop a thorough understanding of key operational/sales data sources and how they fit together
o Build dynamic reporting that can be used to answer operational questions on demand
o Prepare standardized reporting/analysis/presentations to support monthly and quarterly operational reviews
o Operationalize data flows and reporting that provides key information/insights to sales representatives and drives action
Build, launch, and track strategic sales campaigns based on customer target/prioritization analysis and modeling
o Help optimize decisions around sales segmentation, channel, and touch frequency for maximum return on investment
o Prioritize targets using analytics grounded in firmographic information and past purchase attributes
o Continually investigate new tools and methods to better identify growth opportunities with existing customers and prospects
o Build reporting to track results and identify opportunities for improvement
Act as an integral team member for some of the company's strategic projects
o Provide analytical support as needed to guide project focus and strategy
o Manage project components in conjunction with workstream leaders
o Build dashboards and reporting to track progress
o Prepare presentations for senior leaders
Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously on tight deadlines
Perform other duties as required.
Education: Bachelor's degree required, MBA in Marketing or related field preferred
Minimum 3+ years of marketing or sales analytics experience required
Superior data analytic skills and other statistical techniques (correlation, cluster, multivariate)
Strong capabilities with SQL required.
High level of proficiency within Excel/ Access or similar tools.
Tableau experience desirable.
