As a Sr Analyst, Systems - Customer Digital Technologies at United Rentals, you will be tasked to deliver on key strategic objectives. You will be critical in ensuring different software systems integrate and scale well to render industry leading user experiences. You will also contribute at different phases of software development, work with world class vendors, software providers and cater to internal stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Location - Preferably Stamford, CT or other major markets for the right candidate.
Additional duties include the following:
Act as the primary technical point of contact for a broad range of software enhancements
Build a thorough end-to-end understanding of technical interfaces for the company website and the mobile app
Perform root cause analysis across system call chains for issues reported
Conduct regular reviews of systems, both on premise and cloud, to identify efficiencies and improvement areas
Provide response and/or resolution to issues, engaging IT resources as needed
Solicit, assess and prioritize requests for system enhancements
Discuss desired changes with business units and prepare business and technical requirements accordingly
Architect and define sustainable and scalable solutions for design, development, deployment and troubleshooting
Assist development and implementation of system enhancements
Test new or modified application functionality, verifying business and technical requirements
Create and maintain technical documentation including: support knowledge base, data sources, data flows, application logic, enhancement/issue logs, hardware/software architecture, Information architecture, Standard Operating Procedures, DR plan, and other project documents
Other duties assigned as needed
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Science or Business
5+ years in programmer analyst or systems analyst role
Effectively communicate complex concepts with vendors, customers, team members and management, both verbal and written
Balance a self-motivated, independent work ethic with intense cross-functional collaboration needed to drive project success
Strong Experience with programming concepts, database systems and sql programming (SQL Server, DB2)
Hands-on software troubleshooting experience, while under pressure, for ecommerce web and mobile applications
Good technical knowledge of current computer networking, virtual hardware, security and cloud concepts
Good working knowledge of data modeling, ETL concepts and reporting with tools like Tableau
Strong project management and documentation abilities
Strong critical thinking skills
Experience with using ERP systems, preferably AS400
